Delivering solutions: Believe Housing Australia opens new homes in Panorama

In April, Believe Housing Australia celebrated the opening of its $13.7 million, four-level apartment building at Panorama, a big step toward providing more high-quality affordable housing in South Australia.

The development features 23 modern homes now accommodating 33 residents, including singles, couples, families, and individuals living with disability. The project was officially opened by Federal Minister for Housing and Homelessness Clare O’Neil and South Australian Minister for Housing and Urban Development Nick Champion, alongside Believe Housing Australia staff and sector partners.

Supported by the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), Panorama is among the first developments in the state to receive this vital investment. This project reflects what is possible when sector expertise and government investment come together to meet real community needs.

“This development is more than just bricks and mortar - it is about creating lasting change for the people and communities we serve,” said Stacey Northover, Executive General Manager of Housing Services. “Panorama is a demonstration of how we can design and deliver quality housing that responds directly to the needs of our communities.”

For university students Ali and Parya, Panorama has been life-changing. The couple had been living between their families’ homes while juggling study and financial pressure. “Everything was out of our budget,” said Ali, a PhD student researching blood cancer treatments. “When we got the call, it felt like the beginning of our life together.”

Now living independently in a supportive community, they’ve found not just a home - but the foundation for a secure and hopeful future.

As one of South Australia’s largest Tier 1 providers, Believe Housing Australia remains committed to delivering housing solutions that promote stability, independence, and thriving communities.

The AHI acknowledges the tireless efforts of those working within the homelessness sector, supporting the thousands of people experiencing homelessness and searching for meaningful pathways to live normal, productive and healthy lives. Our #HomelessnessWeek2025 sector forum in Sydney saw over 150 leaders, workers, politicians, policy makers, social impact collaborators, change makers and – most importantly - people with lived experience come together to talk about the impact of homelessness and share innovative responses within our community. Collaboration is key and the vibe in the room was inspiring. Real people making real differences. But we know it is far from enough and we must all strive to do more. We commend the NSW Minns Government, in particular the Hon Rose Jackson MLC, for their bold commitment to ‘make homelessness rare, brief and not repeated because people have a safe home and the support to keep it’ through the release of the NSW Homelessness Strategy 2025-2035. Thanks to Rebecca Pinkstone CEO Homes NSW and Dom Rowe CEO Homelessness NSW for their strong leadership and commitment to ending homelessness and providing more people with a home. The AHI continues to support and connect the workers who turn up, show up and get things done. Every single day.
