Rewarding Excellence

ahi: Brighter Future Awards

Introduction

AHI’s Brighter Future Awards are all about recognising the people, organisations, innovations and programs that help to shape a brighter future. They celebrate the depth and diversity of talent right across the social and affordable housing sector in Australia and New Zealand. Open to AHI members, they champion good work, raise the profile of our sector in the broader community, and highlight the positive change we can enable in the lives of those people we serve.

About the Awards

The judging panel, made up of sector professionals and experts, assess the nominations received from nine Brighter Future Award categories across all jurisdictions. You can read more about each category below. Events are held across Australia and New Zealand to announce the jurisdictional award winners, culminating with the Gala event to announce the Australasian winners for each category.

The Brighter Future Awards recognise the valuable contributions made by our First Nations led organisations who provide unique projects specific to the needs of Indigenous Peoples across Australia and New Zealand. Included within awards categories is the opportunity to showcase First Nations led projects and people for assessment by the judging panel, which will include members with specific expertise in both the New Zealand and Australian perspectives.

The next Brighter Future Awards will be held in 2027. Information about the nomination process for the 2027 awards will be available in late 2026.
