The 'Managing Complex Calls as a Housing Professional' workshop will provide you with the necessary skills to identify complex scenarios in clients stories, respond to complexities and crisis in meaningful and professional ways, and refer any identified situations via your organisation's policies, procedures and best practice guidelines. 


What this workshop will cover:


  • Identify: Recognising customer service complexities, mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, crisis), and understanding suicide, alcohol and other drugs, and family violence
  • Support: How to open and navigate difficult conversations, talking about mental illness and suicide, all-ability communication, and what is and isn't helpful when supporting someone in distress
  • Refer: Warm referral principles, referral pathways and processes, and where to find further sector resources
  • Vicarious Trauma and Wellbeing: Recognising vicarious trauma and practical self-care strategies for working in a demanding frontline role
  • Reflections: Values-based reflection and ongoing professional development in the housing sector
