Maryanne Sneddon

SVdP (Society) Housing Australia

My name is Maryanne Sneddon, I have worked within the Housing Sector since 1996 where I have a strong background in housing support services, with experience in both client coordination and housing development. I began as a front counter receptionist and progressed to roles that emphasize stakeholder management, working with diverse populations, and supporting people experiencing social or economic disadvantage. I have built a diverse and compassionate skill set that has provided me with a fulfilling career.

As I enter my 29th year in the Housing Sector and in my current role as Support Coordinator at SVdP (Society) Housing Australia I have been able to seamlessly re-enter the Community Housing Sector again after a 10-year break while working in the Asylum Seeker Sector providing all aspects of accommodation support to this very marginalised client group.

I have participated in further education and obtained extensive qualifications with the feature being from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Certificate in Housing and Certificate in Housing for Health Advanced, I also hold a Diploma of Community Services Management. With many other qualifications I pride myself on always trying to be able to learn more and using these skills to best support clients in the community.

Along with these skills I continue to be engaged in leadership programs and currently highlight my commitment as a Mentor in the Career+ Mentoring Program with AHI for the past several years. I am excited to assist emerging workers as they navigate working in the Housing Sector.

Outside of my fulfilling career I enjoy being with my Grandchildren, traveling and have found a special place through my partner to love my home away from home in Saigon, Vietnam.
