Joan Hughes

Retired

Since 1993 Joan was a Chief Executive Officer in the not-for-profit sector including: Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust (AVCAT), Australian Red Cross, Carers Australia

and Carers NSW.

She still advocates for specific individuals and communities particularly older people, and is sought for her knowledge, experience and expertise by governments and the other sectors.

Joan retired from paid employment in 2021. For the last 10 years Joan has been appointed to numerous Boards of governance and advisory councils.
